MMBA Spartans celebrates the vibrant tradition of dhol-tasha while building leadership, teamwork, discipline, and cultural pride among participants. Bringing together youth, students, families, and performers from across the community, the group represents the powerful energy and spirit associated with Maharashtrian celebrations. Beyond performances, MMBA Spartans becomes a space where dedication, practice, collaboration, and identity come together through music and shared experience. For many participants, it is also a meaningful way to stay connected to culture while building lasting friendships and memories within the Bay Area community
Ganesh Utsav
A celebration that brings devotion, tradition, creativity, and community together
Ganesh Utsav has long been one of the most cherished traditions within the Maharashtrian community. At MMBA, it becomes more than a festival. It becomes a collective experience where families, volunteers, children, artists, and seniors come together to celebrate faith, culture, and togetherness. From aartis and performances to decorations, food, music, and community participation, the celebration reflects both the spirit of Maharashtra and the warmth of the Bay Area community that keeps these traditions alive. For many families, it is also a moment for younger generations to experience the joy, discipline, and cultural meaning behind one of Maharashtra’s most beloved celebrations
Diwali
Lights, togetherness, traditions, and the joy of celebrating home away from home
Diwali at MMBA brings the community together through celebration, warmth, and shared traditions that connect generations across the Bay Area. From festive performances and cultural programs to food, music, rangoli, and family gatherings, the celebration reflects the spirit of joy and togetherness that defines the festival. For many families, Diwali also becomes an opportunity for children growing up abroad to experience the traditions, stories, and cultural meaning associated with one of India’s most cherished celebrations. Vari
A spiritual tradition rooted in devotion, humility, collective journey, and shared cultural identity
